What to Expect as a GTN Contractor
Joining Grounded Therapy Network means building a practice that reflects your professional interests, clinical expertise, and personal goals—without having to manage every aspect of the business on your own. GTN combines the independence of private practice with established referral relationships, administrative assistance, and opportunities to collaborate with other therapy professionals.
Professional Independence and Flexibility
GTN works exclusively with 1099 independent contractors, allowing professionals to maintain autonomy over their clinical practice.
Contractors have the flexibility to:
Develop a schedule that works with their availability and professional commitments.
Pursue clinical interests and work with populations that align with their qualifications and experience.
Apply their own therapeutic approaches and professional judgment.
Maintain other employment, private practice work, or professional commitments.
Build a caseload based on their availability, client needs, and referral opportunities.
Independent contractors are responsible for their own taxes, professional insurance, and business-related expenses. GTN provides organizational support while respecting each provider's professional independence.
Administrative Support That Makes a Difference
Running a practice involves more than providing therapy. GTN helps manage many of the administrative responsibilities involved in connecting clients with services, allowing contractors to spend more time on their clinical work.
Support includes:
Established referral relationships: Access to inquiries generated through GTN's relationships with community mental health agencies, schools, courts, and other referral sources.
Client intake and matching: GTN handles initial inquiries, gathers relevant information, and works to connect clients with providers whose expertise and availability fit their needs.
Initial scheduling and onboarding: Administrative assistance with coordinating first appointments, communicating with new clients, and distributing required intake paperwork.
Billing and payment coordination: GTN manages organizational billing processes and coordinates payment for services provided through the network.
Administrative communication: A central point of contact for organizational questions, referral coordination, and assistance navigating GTN procedures.
Professional consultation: Opportunities to discuss clinical questions, exchange knowledge, and connect with other counseling and recreational therapy professionals.
Contractors retain responsibility for their own clinical decisions, documentation, professional obligations, and ongoing client relationships.
Competitive Compensation
GTN recognizes the education, experience, and responsibility that counseling and recreational therapy professionals bring to their work. Our compensation structure reflects the value of that expertise while maintaining the flexibility of independent contracting.
Recreational Therapy Professionals
$50/hour starting rate for clinical time
$20/hour for administrative time
Counseling Professionals
60/40 to 70/30 revenue split
Compensation arrangements and applicable service expectations are discussed during the contracting process.
Professional Consultation and Collaboration
Independent practice doesn't have to mean professional isolation.
GTN brings together counseling and recreational therapy professionals with different backgrounds, experiences, and areas of expertise. This creates opportunities to exchange ideas, seek consultation, and learn from one another.
We value the unique perspective each provider contributes and encourage professional relationships built on mutual respect, shared knowledge, and continued learning.
Referrals and Caseload Development
Building a practice often means spending considerable time developing relationships and finding clients. GTN helps reduce that burden through established connections with community agencies, referral sources, and individuals seeking services.
Our administrative team helps coordinate incoming referrals and connect clients with providers based on service needs, qualifications, location, and availability.
Whether you're developing your practice or looking to expand an existing caseload, GTN offers opportunities to serve people through an established network.
Opportunities for Professional Growth
GTN supports professionals who want to strengthen their skills, explore clinical interests, and continue developing their practices.
Depending on professional qualifications, interests, and available opportunities, contractors may be able to participate in consultation, educational activities, or collaborative work with community organizations.
Our goal is to create an environment where professionals can develop their expertise while maintaining the independence that makes their work meaningful.
A Network That Values Its Professionals
GTN recognizes that quality therapeutic services depend on knowledgeable, capable professionals who have the freedom to use their expertise.
We strive to build lasting professional relationships, support responsible clinical practice, and create opportunities for therapists to do meaningful work in the communities they serve.
