Meet Victoria
Hi there, I’m Victoria. I graduated from Central Michigan University earning a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Over the last four years I have gained experience in a professional and clinical setting working with individuals who have cognitive impairments, head injuries, chronic pain, and clients who have persistent and severe mental illness.
My passion is working with clients who are navigating life’s challenges that may feel isolating and invisible, such as the aging population, caregiving, death and non-death grief, chronic health issues, cognitive impairments, anxiety, and depression. I aim to continuously inform myself on how intergenerational patterns, social systemic systems, and social identity impact overall well-being.
My primary approach is a humanistic and solution-focused lens allowing each client to build confidence by guiding and facilitating their own needs. As we work collaboratively together, I may integrate CBT and DBT to improve emotional regulation and modify behaviors. Depending on each client’s comfortability, mindfulness and somatic exercises may be brought into a session to learn and understand the mind and body connection.
As your therapist, I hope to work together with you to help you achieve your goals and desires by empowering you to be the expert in your life. I look forward to walking that journey with you.
In my downtime, I enjoy reading, traveling, spending time with family and friends, heading to the water, and of course cuddling with my dogs.
